past hour-ish

so for at least an hour now, i've been trying to set up a 'real' blog... while taking pictures of what i would want posted on my blog.
i've never really been a blogger person...
but hey, i guess it's a good way to put my work out there...
so why not do it, and do it well.
so i've set up a flickr account as well, to post my work onto, since i was having difficulty loading pictures last time.

i'm working on my first sold book right now.
curious george.
it's been nice to get away from hand cramping sewing which i have been doing for the past three days.
but i'm almost done with the first of 12... maybe 20. maybe even 27...
we'll see where exactly it goes, then decide how many is really appropriate!

prezident daze

so i've spent this weekend searching for the perfect STITCH for this project.
I THINK I FINALLY FOUND IT!
so i'm pretty excited about that!
i've done a lot of investigating on how i want each page to look, because i have to keep OVERLAPPING in mind. i can't forget about the OVERLAPPING!
it's most likely the most important part of this project.
i've completed about three practice pages.... now i'm on to the REAL THING!
VERY EXCITING!!!!
one page down... 400ish to GO!

emma johnson

artists using maps

so this has been an interesting week.
a little stressful... things still not going as planned....
BUT
!!!
i have found some really interesting artists....
just from searching what other artists use maps.
the artist emma johnson's work is really intreging to me.
unfortunately i can't find any other websites on her.... so i'm not sure what exactly her materials are...

trying to upload the image... not working?!
umm, i dont get IT!!

maybe i'll have to do a separate posting with it?!

just trying to figure out where to go this semester with my work, I already have an idea for a mixed media piece... to incorporate my sewing with one of the prints i want to make this semester in lithography.... so basically i'm still stuck in the beginning stages.....

second day of class

everyone showed there work today.

to pick someone whose work i responded to the most....

i think i feel that i respond to shawns work the most,
even though she was my "partner" I really enjoyed looking at her work.
i'm new to printmaking, so i found her work both complex and intriguing, especially since i am considering adding prints to my new body of work.
